CONTROL PANEL
Introduction: - Advanced MS-Windows configuration can be done using the control panel. Screen color adjustment of mouse, main mouse button, add and remove printers, font settings, date and time formats etc. can be done with the control panel.
Objectives: - After reading this chapter we will be able to customize the desktop as required by using the control panel programs.
Starting Control Panel: -
To open the control panel select.
start> setup> control panel.
Recommended file name to control.
EXE: - Each icon in the control panel represents programs for a topic called action when double-clicked on it.
Accessibility options: - Allows us to set up keyboard, mouse, sound, display and ms - windows options.
Install new hardware: - Used for inserting or removing audio, CDROM, Video, hard disk controls, display adeptors, mouse, printer, components, modems, network adeptors and other device drive.
Install removal programs: - Used to add or remove various ms-windows modules and allows the user to create a boot disk.
Date / Time: -Allows you to set the current date and time based on the selected time zone.
Display: - Used to set colors and fonts in different parts of the window screen, title bars etc.
Font: - Used for adding or removing fonts.
Keyboard: - Used to set the rate of which keys to repeat, the language of the rate of the blink scale to be used for letters etc.
Mouse: - Used to set the speed of mouse movement, double-click speed, left or right mouse routes the main button and mouse pointer position.
Multimedia: - Used for converting audio, MIDI, CD music, and other multimedia device drivers, formats and settings.
Network: - Used to configure network support and how to access access to network resources such as printers, fox fox etc.
Passwords: - Used to set or change log log passwords, remote computer management etc.
Printers: - Used to display installed printers to change the properties of the installed printers to display and manage the print queue for each of the installed printers.
Power: - Used to set advanced power management in the event of a battery powered laptop to view the current state of the battery case.
Regional Settings: - Used to set formats for time, date, number and amount.
Audio: - Turn off computer beep or add sounds to various program events if the computer has built-in sound capabilities.
System: - Displays computer device, RAM, processor types etc.
